Rocket Pig sailed two races today in the first day of the championship division. John and I had our shining moments and sailed smart and hard, but in the end... an equipment failure (a broken outhaul) and being over the line early twice put a damper on the day's overall results. Such as life...John and I dug deep to find a greater meaning in today's destiny.
One must present his boat to nature....for nature will present itself to you...and one must listen to her...for she will speak...
No one wakes up in the morning and decides one's own fate...your only control is how you choose to participate in the experience we call life.

Rondori racing baby! We rig and repair on the water. I think just about every boat I have sailed, I have re-rigged and broken on the water. Always keep duct tape and extra line on the boat. Yes, it's weight but it a needed sacrifice. Of course, you won't fix it for that race, (usually) but you'll be good for the next one.
If you don't break something, you were way too far away from the edge. If you are not over early once and awhile. you are afraid of the line.
Sail it like you stole it!
Keep pushing. As Tiger says, you can't miss them all. In time, the bullets will come. (I'm surprised, even for me they drop sometimes.)
I'm sure it's a thrill to be there in the championship fleet. Wish I were there with you. Maybe next year.
Cheers,
Brian Hampton
